Top 5 Resolutions for the New Year

Every new year brings with it a set of new resolutions. From losing 10lbs to finding your true passion, resolutions come in all shapes and sizes. When even Mark Zuckerberg (Mr. Facebook, himself) resolves to make a change, it’s a little difficult not feel inspired to follow suit.

With all the new and exciting options out there, it can be a little overwhelming trying to figure out what to work on. To get you started, here are 5 top resolutions people are making in 2015.

1. Read More Books

A new year can mean going back to old ideas. In an age where even grocery shopping can be done online, it might be nice to give your eyes and mind a rest. This year, get out of the “matrix” and into a soft, comfy chair with a good, old fashion, paper book.

2. Travel

Traveling doesn’t always have to mean going to exotic, international locations. There are many places to visit locally that are just as beautiful and unique. So, get out there and see the world – or at the very least, your local park.

3. Be Active

Studies show that being active has many positive benefits including improved fitness, positive self-esteem and reduced stress. Grab a friend and explore the great outdoors, play some sports or simply take a short leisurely walk.

4. Develop Healthy Habits

An oldie but goodie! Making healthy choices should be on everyone’s list of resolutions this year. Developing healthier habits isn’t limited to just diet and exercise. Getting adequate sleep and meditating are a couple of other options.

5. Learn Something New

Our bodies aren’t the only things that need activity. Our minds also need to keep busy. Exercise that brain and learn a new skill or language. Learning something new can begin as a resolution and end as an exciting new hobby, career or lead to meeting new people.

Whether you’re making one or more resolutions this year, make sure to remember the most important part of this process: to grow and have fun.
